Woman's Trash Is Another Woman's Treasure!
Do you have a
stash of scrapbook supplies that you haven't
used, probably won't use but don't know what to
do with? Did you buy way too many baby
embellishments...and now the baby is in
Kindergarten...and there are no signs on the
horizon of another one on the way? Do you have
more beach paper than there are grains of sand
on the beach? Have you ever wondered what you
could or should do with all these extras? After
all, we couldn't possibly just throw them away!
Well...We Have The
Answer!
WE'RE HOSTING A SWAP!
Each participant will be allowed to bring
their hallowed stash and exchange it for things
that others have brought! If there are items
that need to be sold rather than gifted, that
will also be allowed. A $10.00 fee will be

Special Store Discount
will be offered to all participants
during the event and refreshments will be
served. Participation is limited, and
reservations are required. Call today to sign up

News Flash: Celebrity Sighting!
Word has it that there's been a celebrity
sighting...yes, I do believe there is a plane
headed our way, carrying another celebrity to
our store! Looks like the plane is due to arrive
around October 21st!
Who will it be? See if you can guess!
Each week we'll give you another clue, till
someone guesses who it is! Here's the first
clue:
Clue # 1
She hails from one of my favorite places, a
state where both water and mountains prevail!
Clue # 2 She
is not only a Designer for 6 companies, but she
also owns her own
company with her sister!
Ok... I'm feeling generous! I'll give you an
extra clue this week!

just try it all! I scrap both sizes and love the
simple to the more complicated pages. Ribbon is
my all time favorite thing to use on my pages
and I love to find cool ways to use different
embellishments. Patterned paper is another
favorite of mine and my growing collection of it
doesn’t let me hide that at all!"
We are thrilled

How adorable is this? It opens for photos, ties
closed and is in it's own little flower pot, no
less! So many more surprises to come! Stay tuned
for details!

The
second class will teach you how to use fabrics
on your pages. You'll complete two adorable
layouts that will make you proud. Photos to

Ali's Classes

TODAY YOU-
9am-12noon
THE CONCEPT-
Celebrate
the
everyday.
Get silly
with the
stuff of
life. In
this
workshop you
will be
making a
mini-album
that
celebrates
someone in
your life
(or
yourself).
Telling the
story of
their
"everyday"
over the
period pf
nine random
days. Follow
the four
steps below
to prepare
for the
workshop.
STEP ONE-
Choose
someone you
love. A
spouse,
partner,
parent,
child,
friend, pet,
yourself,
etc.
STEP TWO-
Choose nine
days to
record bits
and pieces
of your
subjects
life. The
nine days
can be
consecutive
or random.
Totally up
to you. The
nine days
can be in
different
months.
STEP THREE-
Record three
simple
observations
for each day
along with
the time.
They can be
brief, such
as "you
asked for
Fruit Loops
for
breakfast."
or longer
and more in
depth.
JOURNALING
for this
book will be
done in
strips. Type
or handwrite
your on
strips of
white or
off-white
paper no
longer than
6 inches
wide. Please
dome to
class with
your strips
trimmed and
ready to
adhere into
your book.
STEP FOUR-
PHOTOS: Take
at least one
photo for
each day. I
used 9, 6
inch by 4
inch
horizontal
photos in my
album
(horizontal
works best
for this
album)- feel
free to
bring
additional
2x2 inch
photos from
each day if
you wish.
CLASS
SUPPLIES-
Basic Tool
kit, black
pen, corner
rounder,
favorite ink
if you like
to ink the
edges (or if
you want to
try it out.
Ali does not
list what
"basic"
supplies are
. I think it
is scissors,
favorite
adhesive,
paper trimer,
sandpaper,
and a hole
punch (about
a 1/8th),
but that's
just me!
GET READY-
One of the
main design
ideas that
we will be
chatting
about in
this
workshop is
my
philosophy
on combining
pattern
papers. Come
ready with
an open mind
and be ready
to play with
lots of
different
colors and
patterns.
*****************
FAVORITE
PHOTOS-
1pm-4pm
THE CONCEPT-
Display
seven of
your
favorite
photos in a
thick
chipboard
album from 7
Gypsies.
Educational
emphasis in
this
workshop is
on combining
pattern
papers,
painting,
inking,
photography,
transparencies,
journaling,
and not
making
things more
complicated
than they
need to be.
THE PHOTOS-
Bring seven
of your
favorite
photos
enlarged to
5 inches by
7 inches + a
bit of
information
on each
photo such
as date,
memory, etc.
Color or
black and
white photos
both look
cool in this
album- that
is totally
up to you.
The photos
could be
from one
event or
they could
be from lots
of different
times,
places,
people, etc.
I am
guessing
that you
probably
have a few
photos
around your
home that
would be
perfect in
this album.
My vote is
to simply
pick your
favorites-
ones that
speak to you
for one
reason or
another.
Photography
is so very
personal.
Looking
forward to
seeing what
photos you
choose to
create with
in this
workshop.
CLASS
SUPPLIES-
Basic tool
kit
(trimmer,
etc), black
pen, hole
punch,
corner
rounder,
small
acrylic
block for
stamping,
and favorite
ink if you
like to ink
the edges.
For this
book I used
a glue stick
as my
adhesive of
choice-
works great
for getting
the edges of
the paper to
stick all
around.
*******************
PERSPECTIVE-
5pm-8pm
THE CONCEPT-
Essentially,
what is your
perspective
on your life
RIGHT NOW?
Who are you?
What are
your roles?
How are you
living? What
do you eat?
Who or what
do you love?
What do you
believe in?
How are you
growing and
changing?
What
challenges
are you
facing or
triumphs
celebrating?
THE
PREPARATION-
Below you
will find
six personal
statement
starters.
For each
statement,
write as
much or as
little as
you like. If
you really
get into
this, go for
it! There is
no right or
wrongway to
journal-
this is YOUR
book. Your
statements
should
reflect YOU.
The real
you. Write a
single
sentence,
make a list,
compose a
paragraph,
create
drawigns,
simply tell
what is true
for you
right now.
Choose six-
I am...I
live...I
eat...I
go...I
need...I
watch...I
read...I
love...
I
believe...I
grow...
The journal
block for
this
mini-book is
3 inches
wide by 4
inches tall-
if you want
to print out
your
journalling
ahead of
time, that
is cool,
Otherwise
you will be
using your
own
handwriting
in class.
Before you
panic about
using your
own
handwriting,
think about
this: this
is a book
about YOU.
If you never
use your
handwriting
on another
project
again, that
is fine- but
I totally
recommend
using it for
this book.
THE PHOTOS-
In addition
to you
statements
you will
need a photo
block that
measures
three inches
wide by 5
inches tal
for each "i"
statement.
Feel free to
create a
collage of
various
photos that,
when
adhered,
will fit to
three inches
by 5 inches.
(or bring
one photo
that fits
your
statement)
Have fun
with these
photos. Look
for real
life shots
representative
of your
personal
perspective.
CLASS
SUPPLIES-
Basic tool
kit, black
pen, corner
rounder and
a favorite
ink (if you
have one). I
will have a
couple of
colors on
hand. Also,
bring your
best "play"
attitude and
any
questions
you have
about
scrapbookng,
creating,etc.
If
you are trying to figure out how you are going
to take ALL of them. Well you can't- but this is
what we think you can do!
You
will be able to take
2
Ali and 1 Donna!
or
1
Ali and 3 Donna,
or
all
of Ali's
OR
all
of Donna's!
The classrooms are right across the hall from
each other, so you can leave one at 5pm and the
other starts at 5pm and you'll be OK. The ladies
bathroom is right there too! See, gotcha
covered!

TIP For Leftovers
If you are looking for
a solution to your left over paper
scraps, here's a great solution from a
scrapbooker in North Carolina!
Make cards using your
leftover scraps and send them to the
Make A Child Smile
foundation. The foundation is all about
making children smile through the pain
and sickness of their illness. The
website
www.makeachildsmile.org
gives you the first name,
background and medical history/condition
of these sick little ones, so you can
choose who to send the cards to. The
children of the families really
appreciate getting the cards and good
thoughts.
