Love is in the air! What an exciting week around here! It's official, Jenny is engaged! Our family is expanding, and we are thrilled and happy, to welcome Jenny's fiancée Tim, into the fold! Be prepared to travel this journey with us as wedding plans begin to take place. Be sure to check out the new "bling" on her finger, next time you are in! I'm sure she'll be happy to show it to you! Congratulations Jenny & Tim!

Well, week one is under your belt now! I hope everyone had a great first week of school and that your new routines will soon fall into place! I gave away lots of "Mom Hugs" this week and remembered when I too, was facing those very same emotions of letting go! I was glad to share a warm embrace with so many of you! I certainly have gotten many of hugs from you all when I've needed them!

We have tons of great school products in, so be sure to stop in and check them out! I can't stress enough, especially this year...the manufacturers are shipping products earlier than they normally do, so when the products come in, it's even more important to buy them when you see them on the E-mail, because once they're gone...they're gone! No re-orders this year! There are just too many great items out there, and we all know...it's always about what's new! 

September's Class schedule is up and workshops are already beginning to fill. Be sure to check your schedule and sign up early, we hate disappointing people when a class if full! Also, Debby Schuh (our  Anna Griffin Guest Teacher) classes are filling quickly, so don't wait too long to call. The phone was ringing off the hook today. Be sure to check out all the great samples in the store. Lots of fun ideas for the holidays too! don't be caught unprepared this year, start working on your holiday gifts now! Ok so we may be the "older" girls now, but we've still got it! I had the BEST time "going back to college" as we all called it. It was so good to see all my sister, some of them I hadn't seen in 4 years and the campus is just as beautiful as I remember it,  just more buildings. So for everyone who has asked about my trip "back to college," Thank You! It was incredible!

It truely reminded me of why I chose to attend and how much I missed it there! Shhh! Don't let Mom know,  if I left her again she might open another Scrapbook Store. Yeah right, but you can always dream!

Here we are at summer's end and the weekend before school starts! I'm sure Target, Walmart and the clothing stores have been crazy this past week with all of the school shopping! Whether your little one is 5 and off to kindergarten or 17 and off to college, we wish them all a happy and successful school year.

We've given out lots of "Mom Hugs" this past week. Lots of kids going off to college, and as I've shared in the past, I remember that incredible, emotional roller-coaster of excitement, and sadness. I can remember the moment when we walked away from the dorms, leaving first our son, and three years later, our daughter behind. I cried for days, weeks, and months. Then one day, you see them in their new environment, happy and well adjusted, and somehow "All Seems As It Should Be", and you know both your children and you, have turned the page on a new chapter. If you are one of these moms and haven't had your hug yet, be sure to say something when you stop in... My arms are always open!

Events: Another week has flown by and I honestly can't seem to keep up. Plans for fall activities, new products arriving daily, workshops in progress and shoppers on a daily basis... there just aren't enough hours in the day! Here's a quick run down of some Fall Events.

Jenny is Kentucky enjoying her college sorority reunion,  so I'm trying to fill in for her, while she's gone. I'm sure she's having a great time, but I sure do miss her. I can't wait to hear all the stories about the girls! After all the years together, I feel like a surrogate Mom to many of them!

Can it get any hotter??? I don't think so!

It seems like this time, every year, I grow weary of the heat, and I'm ready for some cooler temperatures. You'd think after 35 years of living in Florida I would be used to it by now, but not so! Somehow my northern roots keep reminding me that at summers end...it's time to put the white shoes away, go shopping for school clothes and take the sweaters off the shelf! Here in Florida it just means six more months of heat!

The heat didn't seem to keep people away last weekend when we held our garage sale! More than 100 people made their way through tables and racks full of unbelievable bargains! Low prices and great products were the key! By 1:00 PM there was barely anything left, and by 2:00 PM the parking lot was cleared, and what little was left, was brought inside! What a smashing success! We will definitely be repeating this event!

All the remaining products have been donated to the Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care Center. This wonderful service helps meet the needs of terminally ill children and their families, in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte and Desoto Counties. The products donated will assist families in memory making activities and provide therapeutic art activities for patients and their siblings. We are happy that we are able to help others in need, preserve memories, in the most difficult of times. Thank you to each of our participants who also generously donated their left over items.

Lots of fun things happening in September. Yes, I'm trying to put the finishing touches on our September calendar. The trouble is... I'm also working on October, November and December's at the same time. Our Design Team just keeps coming up with great ideas, and the task of ordering product, guaranteeing deliveries and trying to make sure each deadline is met, is a true challenge! I hope to have things completed this week.
