Weekly Update:
|
January 24, 2007

Ok, so with our computer problems, hopefully
behind us... we march onward and upward... Not
much else you can do about it. Sorry we couldn't
get a full update out, last week. It certainly
didn't stop anyone from coming in, signing up
for classes and checking things out, though. We
had an incredibly busy week! We surprised a lot
of people with our in-store specials. I
told you, we need to make room for new products
from CHA, so come see what else we add, this
week!
Paula's Organization Class
was a big hit!
Everyone is off and running and re-organizing
everything in sight. She has certainly made a
difference in many ways! If you missed it, don't
fret... she's repeating it on
March 17th.
Check out the
calendar page
for details, and call the store, to sign up.
Believe it or not, the class is half filled
already!
Speaking of Workshops:
Tissiana's
Pages By Design Workshop
this
past Sunday, was
AWESOME!
The first, in a two
part series, this class teaches the elements of
design, using templates and sketches. A tad bit,
intimidating at first... but once you get it,
you're off and running. How excited about it, am
I, you ask??? So excited, that even I
took the class. I can hardly wait for Part two,
on
Feb 11th!
We definitely need to repeat
this class, so if you missed it, and are
interested, call the store and add your name to
the wait list for the next class.
She's back...Jeannie's
workshop this
Saturday, is sure to be fun! Have you got
Purse-n-ality? Whether you think you do, or
not... you will, when you leave this class,
that's for sure. Jeannie's creativity and charm, makes everything she does, fun! There are still
a few spots left, so call the store and join in
the fun.
Saturday, Jan 27th, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm!

Jenny,
Tissiana, and I are off to California, to
CHA.
The largest trade show of the year. We are
excited about seeing all the new products and
learning new techniques. A great big
THANK YOU, to our focus group, for their
valuable input and suggestions. We had a great
meeting regarding the focus of our store for the
coming year, and the direction we will be
taking. We are armed with good information,
prepared with budgets in mind, and are
especially privileged to be invited to so many
private preview parties, that our orders will be
the first to be placed and filled! Because we
are also a member of the Crafter's Home
Organization, we are able to participate in
three days of previews from the major
manufacturer's, before the show even opens! This
enables us to take advantage of lots of great
savings, as well as be first at placing orders.
What that means to you is... not only better prices,
but also
being able to buy products before they ship to
other stores. Watch our
New Products Page,
as we update it with, what's coming!

January 10, 2007

January may be a hibernating month for some, but
for us, it's a time of renewal, rejuvenation,
re-organization and moving forward! I am
excited, thinking about what the New Year has in
store for me!
So Bring It On!
2007 is going to be a great year!

We have been busy getting the
store ready, for all the new and exciting things,
we'll be seeing at CHA (our Annual Trade Show).
It's back in California this year, and for us,
marks our 9th year of attending. The first 3
years we attended CHA, it was in CA. Of all the
locations, California is definitely my favorite!

We have already had a preview from many of the
companies, and I think you all, will be thrilled
at what's coming! For example... how long have
you waited and asked for
"Girl Scout"
stuff?? Well, K & Co has the most
incredible release. It was worth waiting for.
Paper, stickers, embellishments, even albums for
both
Brownies
and
Girl Scouts!
That's not all they have either. They also have
new Wedding, Baby, Graduation, Several Designer
Collections, Travel and more. Karen Foster has
new releases in 17 categories! Everything from
Snorkel & Scuba to Police & Fire fighter, Water
Sports, Maternity, Cruise and more! We're also
excited about our special invitation to attend a
Private Party with
Martha Stewart,
where her new product line will be revealed.
Now, that's a good thing!
It's great to see so many of you returning with
your shopping bags from New Years Day! Do you
know there were more than 100 people here on New
Years Day? That's a lot of hand stamped bags
huh? Just ask Jeannie! I'm glad everyone is
having such fun with this promotion. You still
have one more week! The promotion ends next
Saturday, so take advantage of it while you can!
MFM On-Line Store
Do you know we've had over 3,000 customers shop
our on-line store? That is amazing, especially
considering, it has only been operational for
less than a month! We are so thrilled! If you
haven't checked it out yet, be sure to do so.
You can not only buy Scrapbooking products, but
lots of other things as well. Just click on the
link from our website and go to the category of
choice. It's as easy as that!
The February Calendar is up and workshops are
filling fast. Be sure to check out the
Calendar Page of the website for
all the featured Workshops. We still have some
room left if a few of this months workshops so
be sure to check those out as well.
Sandy T's dry embossing Valentines on the 20th,
is just the most unique, little gift you can
give!
Jeannie's Purse-n-ality Book on the 27th, is so
clever and unique, that we even have some gals,
driving down from Tampa, just to take the class!
Paula's Organizational Class tomorrow, is full,
but don't fret. If you missed this one, she's
repeating it on March 17th, so be sure you sign
up for that one. That list is already growing,
so don't wait too long!
Thanks to so many of you, who responded to last
weeks update. I am glad that I was able to share
with you. As many of you know, this is a
personal business, I am a people person, and I
just can't help but sharing part of my life with
you, since so many of you, share a part of your
lives, with me. I'm glad that it touched so
many, in such a special way.

January 5, 2007
Happy New Year, everyone! I hope your holidays
were blessed with good times with both family
and friends. I had the most special, holiday
ever! It will definitely be a memory that will
last a lifetime with my family. It wasn't about
the gifts that were exchanged, the food that was
prepared or even the excitement of the season.
It was about what matters most in life. I hope
you will indulge in this moment with me, as I share with
you all, a part of my life.

At Thanksgiving this year, before we sat down to
eat, I asked each family member, including my 87
year old mother, to complete a task between
Thanksgiving and Christmas. I asked everyone to
write a letter to each other, telling them what
they would say, if it was their last day on
earth. The letters were to be exchanged on
Christmas Day.

Not knowing if everyone would do it or not, I
never mentioned another word about it. On
Christmas Day, after all the presents had been
opened, my mother said "It's time for our
letters!". Little did I know that she wanted
them all be, Read Aloud! I didn't know about
anyone else, but I certainly wasn't
prepared for that. My mother insisted. She said,
the purpose was to share with one another, and
everyone should be allowed to share in the
exercise. Remember when you were in school, and
the teacher called on you, to give an oral
report? You knew the materials, were prepared,
but still, your stomach filled with butterflies,
at the thought of everyone scrutinizing the
content and delivery of your report! Well,
that's exactly how I felt at that very moment,
when my mother made her request! Let me just say
though, how thankful I am, that she insisted. I
can only tell you, that the next two hours
spent, were some of the most precious moments
our family has shared. Not only had everyone
written their letters, but there were things
said that had never been said before. My eyes
fill with tears now, just remembering how very
special it was. It was also a very rare time
when we were all able to be together. With grown
children, it's not always possible to celebrate
holidays together. Life changes on a daily
basis, and we never know if next year, will
afford us the same opportunity, to be together.

I will cherish what transpired on this very
special Christmas Day, and tell you that the
letters I received from my mother, my husband
and my children, will be tucked away, behind my
Christmas Scrapbook Pages. I'm sure they will be
read by me, many times, before my life grows
old, for this was a very, defining moment, in
my life. I hope you too, had a holiday to be
remembered.
