Weekly Update:

Howdy Partner! I'm back from Texas and raring to go! There's a reason why Texans think "BIG", it's 'cause everything in Texas is BIG!  What a great time I had with all the girls. There were six of us, designers from Texas, Virginia, and Florida. There was more talent under one roof than you can possibly imagine! How inspiring! Julie Johnson was definitely the hostess with the mostest! She made each of us a magnetic board for our scrapbook rooms that is just way to cute! Somehow she managed to capture everyone's favorite colors as well!

We visited every scrapbook store in Houston, dipped strawberries in a chocolate fountain, talked scrapbooking till the wee hours of the morning and laughed until we cried! What a fabulous city Houston is. Julie, the consummate tour guide, made sure that we saw all the sights, from the Johnson Space Center to the Hard Rock Cafe. We even managed to find time to visit the "Western Store" for souvenirs! I can hardly wait to scrap the mini book with all the photos I took! I also can't wait to bring some of these talented, creative gals to our home state and share their expertise with all of you! Stay tuned as we plan for future events!

Hi-Ho! Hi-Ho! It's off the Expo we all go! Yes, it's the Orlando Expo this weekend and everyone is so excited about all the great classes being offered, and the abundance of products that will be available. Unfortunately, I'm unable to attend because Saturday is a very special day at our house! It's Jenny's Birthday! So if you happen to be in the store over the weekend be sure to wish her a Happy Birthday! I can't believe she's 24 already! What a proud mom I am. She is such a wonderful daughter, and I am so proud of the kind and caring young woman she has become. She's a tremendous asset to our store as well and her creative talent is evident throughout the store! Happy Birthday Jenny!

Our CHA orders continue to roll in on a daily basis and this week has been no exception! Just wait till you see what came in this week. Zippity Do Da, Zippity AY, My Oh My, What a wonderful day! Plenty of sunshine, heading my way! Zippity Do Dah, Zippity AY! What could be more true! We had one of the best weeks we've ever had and what a great weekend. Thank you to Julie Bateman for teaching such a fun and inspiring workshop. Everyone loved it! I'm sorry we had to turn people away. As you know our workshops fill quickly so, if you see something that interests you, don't wait too long to sign up, or you might miss out on all the fun. If you missed out on the fun last week, here's your chance to join in on the fun this week.

There are still a couple of spots left in this Saturday's  workshops. Both are unique and fun. Jeannie's Friendship Album kicks off the day from 10:00 - 1:00. This 10 page book is filled will bright colors and whimsical quotes. You'll complete the entire book and all you'll need to do is add photos! If you know Jeannie, like we know Jeannie... you won't want to miss this class.

  Becky's Decorated Rolodex workshop is so adorable. Just the right thing to decorate any desk or office. Turn an ordinary Rolodex into a Photo Rolodex or use it for all of your business cards. Either way, it's guaranteed to be a conversation piece! 

I'm off to Houston on Friday for some scrapbooking R & R with Designers from all over the country. I can hardly wait! As a guest of Julie Johnson, I will be in the presence of some very talented gals! I can't wait to take advantage of their creativity. Also looking forward to sitting by the Bay, watching the sunset and sipping cool refreshments! Just the girls, just for fun! The store will be in good hands while I'm gone and I'll be back on Tuesday!

What beautiful weather we are having! No wonder there are so many tourists here! I'd be on the beach too, if I could! We had so many visitors in last week. You can always tell who they are, even before they tell you, by the "sunburn lines!" Haven't we all been there before? It's also "Spring Break" time and the beach traffic certainly is an indication of how many people are soaking up those beautiful rays of sunshine!

EVENTS                                                                                                                     

We are thrilled and excited about the happenings here, starting with our Technique Tuesday Class on Saturday, March 18th. I've talked with Julie and she has informed me that "she's even outdone herself."  The project is just too cute and the surprise we have for those attending, will blow you out of the water! I believe there is only one spot left, so if you are considering it, now's the time to claim that spot.

We have so many great Events coming up it's hard to keep the calendar straight. I'll send reminder E-mails out prior to each event. Don't forget our Quickutz special event on Wednesday, March 29th, 4:00 - 5:00 pm. One lucky winner will walk away with over $200.00  worth of Quickutz!

Next on the schedule of events is the Celebrity workshop with Shannon Taylor, from Junkitz!  Thursday, April 6th we will offer two workshops, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. You will complete three projects, one double page layout and one single page layout. Shannon will show you how to use the wonderful products from junkitz. Shannon will be teaching you how to use puffy paper with a stamped image, painted and chalked to bring out the texture. If you remember our last celebrity class, you know the techniques taught are amazing. You won't want to miss out on this opportunity to learn from a seasoned Junkitz designer! Not Your Ordinary Book Club                                                                                Many of you have asked about membership in our book club. Our Book club is sponsored by Pinecone Press and Made For Memories is a charter member. We have been enjoying our monthly meetings since 2003. Membership cost is $60.00 for a six month period. Each month we receive a new book published by Pinecone Press which is dedicated to specific Scrapbook Techniques. We also receive two kits, one filled with product to duplicate a page from the book and the other filled with product inspired by the book. We take the book and kits home, complete the projects and return the following month to show our pages and discuss the book. Just like a regular Book Club! One kit each month is free and you receive a 10% discount on the book and additional kit. Cost is approximately $24.00 per month. We meet the first Wednesday of every month and our next session begins April 5, 2006. We only have 4 spots open so if you are interested in joining, please contact the store to sign up.  

Well, this was another great week for product arrivals! As much as you guys all love it... it certainly is tough on us. It takes hours, sometimes days, to get it all checked in, in the computer, priced, and out on the floor. What an amazing week it was last week. You are never going to believe the amount of new products that came in. The store was so busy during the day, it made for several late nights, getting it all checked in and put out!. You'll notice the store has been rearranged again... the nature of the business, constantly making room for new items! How exciting it is every day to watch the UPS and FED Ex guys drive up. We never know what to expect, we just know it will be a lot!

In like a lion and out like a lamb! That's the way the month of March is beginning for us! What an incredible "Paper Sale" we had last Saturday. We sold 4,228 pieces of pattern paper and made a multitude of paper lovers very happy! We made room for lots of new arrivals as our spring orders start rolling in! 

Wacky Wednesday: You won't want to miss out as we kick off the month with our first Wacky Wednesday. Join Annette for her Make & Take, anytime between 10:30 - 1:30 and be sure to check out the special of the day! Remember, it's not advertised, you have to come in, to take advantage of the weekly special!

This Saturday's workshop is the SDU Master's Pattern Paper class. If you are an SDU graduate, you are eligible for this class. If you aren't an SDU graduate, you might want to check it out. It is a wonderful program for even a seasoned scrapbooker. Once certified, you are eligible for all the Master's classes that are offered.
